Lifeline Express stationed at Goalpara

GOALPARA, Nov 8 - The world�s first mobile hospital train. Lifeline Express or Jeevan Rekha, which arrived earlier at the Goalpara railway station will be inaugurated tomorrow at 12 noon.

The Lifeline Express which is scheduled to be stationed for 21 days at platform no. 3 of the Goalpara railway station from November 10 onwards will provide free medical treatment including surgeries to needy patients free of cost, besides providing free medicines too.

It may be mentioned here that the Lifel ine Express or Jeevan Rekha also commonly known as the magic train, was established in 1991 as the world�s first hospital train catering to patients with medical aid and relief across the country in the far-flung and remote areas, has already completed 23 years of service.The train is a flagship of Impact India foundation and the Indian Railways.

The magic train which is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art operation theatre along with a team of qualified doctors and surgeons will provide free treatment and surgeries to patients on various services relating to eye, ear, dental, cleft lip, polio etc.

Meanwhile, official sources said that those patients who want to avail free treatment from the team of experienced Lifeline doctors may contact the Joint Director of Health Services, Goalpara for further details.

The event has been organised by the SBI Foundation in association with Impact India Foundation, Jt Diector of Health Services and the district administration and the onus goes to the Deputy Commisssioner JVN Subramanyam, Goalpara whose sincere and untiring efforts made the event possible.
