NALBARI, Jan 21 - The Deputy Commissioner of Nalbari district Bharat Bhushan Dev Choudhury on Sunday inaugurated the newly-constructed library at Nalbari jail.
The library was constructed with funds provided by Ramen Deka, MP of Mangaldoi Lok Sabha constituency .The honorary dentist of the jail Dr Karuna Kanta Goswami initiated construction of the library inside the jail for the benefit of the jail inmates.
The inaugural meeting was presided over by Arup Choudhury, superintendent of the jail. Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner said that the new library will create a congenial atmosphere of learning among the jail inmates. He assured all possible help for all-round development of Nalbari jail.
The meeting was addressed among others by Dr KC Goud, Principal of Nalbari MNC Balika Mahavidyalaya and Professor Sanjib Kumar Goswami.
