NAGAON, Dec 16 - Forest personnel of Salna range on Saturday night confined a leopard in a cage at Bhoraguri village under Samaguri police station in Nagaon district.

According to sources, the leopard was creating panic in the greater Bhoraguri area for months and had also killed various domestic animals. The villagers had intimated the forest officials about the movement of the leopard earlier and had sought help from them.

Following the demand of the locality, the forest personnel of Salna on Saturday afternoon set up a cage to confine the leopard at the entrance of Bhoraguri village. The officials used a goat in the cage as a prey to trap the big cat. The leopard was ultimately trapped in the cage, the sources added. Meanwhile, Forest personnel have released the leopard in Kaziranga National Park after a medical check-up.
