Legal services information stall at NE Book Fair

GUWAHATI, Nov 9 - An information stall on legal services has been opened for the first time at the North East Book Fair under way here, stated a press release.

The initiative has been taken up by the Assam State Legal Services Authority (ASLSA), Guwahati under the project Access to Justice (North East and Jammu & Kashmir), initiated by the Department of Justice, Government of India.

Flyers and handbooks prepared under the project by the ASLSA with information on different Acts are available at the information stall at the book fair for the visitors free of cost. A street play by students and professional artistes is also being performed each evening at the book fair for public awareness on legal rights and duties.

Attending the stall, Justice N Kotiswar Singh of the Gauhati High Court and executive chairman of ASLSA, appreciated the endeavour.
