AGARTALA, Feb 28 - CPI (M)-led Left Front is likely to retain power with tripurainfo.com, a popular news based web portal in Tripura predicting 40-49 seats for the ruling Front.
Although the State has 60 Assembly constituencies, polling was not taken up in one constituency due to death of an MLA. The counting will take place on March 3 along with two other NE States � Meghalaya and Nagaland.
However, NewsX Jan Ki Baat, Axix I India News 24 and C Voters� � all Delhi-based media organisations have given a clear mandate for the BJP-IPFT combine. News X Jan Ki Baat has predicted 35-45 seats for the BJP-IPFT combine in the recently concluded poll process, while Left Front is expected to bag 14-23 seats.
Axix I India News 24 has given a clear mandate in favour of BJP-IPFT with 44-50 seats while it has predicted only 9-15 seats for Left Front. C voters� has projected a neck and neck fight between the ruling Left Front and the BJP-IPFT combine. It has given 26-34 seats for the ruling Left Front while BJP-IPFT combine is likely to win 24-32 constituencies.
Most importantly, the ruling CPI (M) in its �internal report� tabled in the recently concluded State Committee meeting, has indicated that the Left Front may get from 37 to 42 seats of the 60-member Assembly.
In its elaborate poll forecast, tripurainfo.com has claimed that the Left Front has been able to poll 52 percent votes (13.54 lakh) while BJP-IPFT combine has secured 45.5 per cent votes (11.7 lakh). Congress vote share has been reduced to single digit� 2 per cent (52,000).
In course of the poll survey, it came to light that women voters, beneficiaries under government schemes and forest dwellers and their dependents are all set to play a key role in mandating the Left Front to form the eighth Left Front Government.
Around 89 per cent of 1.6 lakh forest dwellers 79 percent of the 4.5 lakh beneficiaries and their families might have cast votes in favour of the Left Front, according to the survey released here on Wednesday.
Side by side, BJP-IPFT combine has been able to secure confidence of government employees and pensioners. �Of the total 1.5 lakh government employees and pensioners, the saffron brigade might be able to secure 70 per cent of the votes while it might have polled 70 per cent of the total 50,000 pensioners and their families�, the survey predicted.
Many say, BJP has made a major inroad in the State, as it had polled only 1.5 per cent votes in 2013 Assembly election. If the party�s growth trend continues, the days are not far when CPI (M) will face a real threat.
