GUWAHATI, Nov 13 � The Science Communications Forum, an organisation for popularisation of science and entrepreneurship development in the North East, organised a lecture on Mission Mars in the 16th NE Book Fair here recently.
Hundreds of students attended the programme. Prof KG Bhattacharyya, retired professor and HoD Chemistry department of Gauhati University delivered a lecture on planet Mars.
Dr Manoj Kumar Singha, associate professor, Physics and Dr Hitesh Barman, associate professor, Chemistry, Rangia College conducted the science quiz among the students.
A group of students of B Barooah College led by Dr Bijoy K Goswami and Dr Shyamal Kar, associate professor, Chemistry demonstrated the magic show and elaborated the chemical reactions involved. Jaydeep Baruah, head, environment division, ASTEC delivered a speech on science popularisation.
The participating students interacted with the resource persons. The programme was anchored by Prof Rushmai Boro of USTM, Meghalaya.
Science Communicators Forum secretary Anju Devi offered the vote of thanks, assisted by Forum treasurer Kalpana Barman.
