Lecture on leadership development at GU

GUWAHATI, May 20 � The Gauhati University Teachers� Association (GUTA) and the Department of Communication and Journalism will organise a lecture-cum-interaction programme on leadership development at 1 pm on May 26 at the Phanidhar Datta Seminar Hall at the Gauhati University here.

Colonel (retd) T Saikia will speak on the topic. Brig Ranjit Borthakur will be the chief guest on the occasion. Colonel (retd) Ranjit Talukdar will be present as the invited guest. Noted film director and actor Brojen Bora will be the special guest. The Vice Chancellor of the Gauhati University, Dr Mridul Hazarika has been invited as the guest of honour.

Talking to this correspondent, GUTA president JC Kalita, general secretary Dr J Sarmah and the head of the Department of Communication and Journalism, Chandan Goswami said that they have specially invited all students of colleges and universities to the programme.

A documentary produced by acclaimed actor Brojen Bora on the life of eminent scholar, distinguished academician and former GU professor Dr VV Rao will be screened on the occasion.

The organisers have sought the cooperation of the Post Graduate Students� Union and the University Law College Students� Union of the varsity in this regard.
