SILCHAR, Aug 4 - The national organising secretary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Ram Madhav, on Monday said that the Narendra Modi-led NDA Government is committed to enact laws to give protection to the Bengali Hindus coming to Assam.

Madhav was here on a one-day visit to discuss many important issues with the BJP, including preparation strategies for the 2016 Assembly elections in the State. Talking to mediapersons, he assured a solution to the people affected by continuous moves by the agencies to put the doubtful tag on them and sending them into detention camps. He said that the government would soon come up with changes in the laws and Acts to provide protection to the persecuted Hindus in the State.

Beyond the political agenda, the government is committed to the issue of giving protection in the form of citizenship to the Hindus. No Hindu shall be asked to leave Assam, said Madhav.

Taking a dig at the Chief Minister, Tarun Gogoi, Madhav said, The CM sheds crocodile tears to befool the voters for political gains. He brushed aside possibilities of an alliance with the AIUDF saying that the BJP would dethrone the Congress with a thumping majority in the forthcoming election. He also said that the historic MoU on peace signed between the NSCN (IM) outfit and the Government of India would ensure peace in the disturbed territory of Nagaland.
