JORHAT, Sept 24 - A day after an elderly woman was robbed off after being attacked on her neck inside her residence near Malow-Ali here, thieves burgled the office of a tax consultant at Digambarsuk locality here on Saturday night last.
Burglars reportedly broke into the office of Gajendra Rathi and took away two laptop computers. Rathi had lodged a complaint in this regard at the Jorhat Police Station.
Incidents of thefts in shops, snatching of bag containing money, have been reported almost every week in the past two months.
Since past few months there has been a rise in incidents of thefts in shops, lifting of vehicles along with incidents of snatching bags containing cash and also mobile handsets from pedestrians and by motorbike-borne youths in and around the town.
