By Staff Correspondent

SHILLONG, Sept 16 - The Opposition Congress has said former Chief Minister DD Lapang quitting the party would not dent the moral of the party in the Autumn session of Meghalaya Assembly which begins from September 21.

The five-day session would end on September 27 and two days are allotted for Private Members business. Congress Spokesperson Hima Shangpliang said the moral of the party is high, despite reports of Lapang quitting the party.

The moral of the legislators is high. There are a lot of questions that have been submitted to the Assembly Secretariat. We would be raising a lot of issues in this short session, he said.

He said that the party would seek a special discussion on the ongoing Sweepers Colony imbroglio. The Government is delaying the matter and we would seek answers from the Government through a special discussion, Shangpliang said.
