Langsning to play Wayhingdoh in final

By Sports reporter

GUWAHATI, Nov 30 Langsning Football Club set up a final date with their Shillong mate Royal Wayhingdoh in the 60th Bharat Ratna Lokapriya Bordoloi Trophy Tournament on December 2.

In the second semifinal played at the Nehru Stadium here this evening, Langsning edged past local outfit Green Valley Sports Club 2-1.

R Vanlal Nundanga and Malsoma Chhangte scored for the Shillong team in the 20th and 45th minutes respectively while substitute Sanjiba Rongpi reduced the margin in the 78th minute.

It was a totally mediocre affair as both the teams hardly went all out for goals. Cohesion among players of both the teams were not satisfactory. However, the Shillong players marginally enjoyed territorial supremacy as their midfielders Ho Jun Shin and Vanlal Nundanga controlled the game with some good ball play.

Langsning went 1-0 ahead when Nundanga pushed home anticipating a pass from Yinka Joel Sunday Ayeni. Chhangte enhanced the margin just before the break with a gentle push when the ball travelled to him off a flag kick.

Substitute Sanjiba converted a spot kick to reduce the margin in the 78th minute. Sanjiba himself was brought down by Shillong goalkeeper Thamgachan Tungshang inside the box.
