NAGAON, Oct 10 � Langsning Football Club entered semi finals of the 64th Independence Day Cup prize-money football tournament.
At Nurul Amin Stadium here today Langsning FC defeated Green Valley Sports Club 4-3 in a well contested quarterfinal. The Shillong team went 3-1 ahead in the first half. Yinka Joel Sunday Ayeni put Langsning 1-0 ahead in the 23rd minute while Daniel Bideni Ayeni enhanced the lead in after two minutes. But in the 38th minute, Green Valley reduced the margin in the 38th minute through Chayaram Basumatary.
However, Green Valley�s jubilation was short-lived as Daniel struck again in the 40th minute to take the Shillong team 3-1 ahead in the first session. The Nigerian completed his hattrick in the 77th minute with a beautiful goal. Green Valley made a late charge and scored two goals in the 83rd and added time when substitute Amol Boro found the target. But it was too late.
Earlier, Oil India Limited entered semifinals yesterday defeating ASEB SC 5-0.
