�Land pattas for landless in State soon�

HAILAKANDI, Dec 5 - Land pattas will be given to landless farmers of Hailakandi district soon along with the rest of the State. This was stated by the secretary of the Hailakandi district committee of the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS), Jahir Uddin Laskar.

Talking to reporters here, Laskar informed that the State government has agreed to provide pattas to landless farmers throughout the State in a meeting with Akhil Gogoi and other KMSS members at Dispur on November 27. This would be materialised from February 2016.

He said the long-pending demands of the people living in government khaas land, reserve forests, ceiling land and landless farmers will be fulfilled. The notification in this regard will be published soon, he added. He also informed that about 10,000 landless farmers of Hailakandi district will be benefitted, particularly those living in Gharmurra, Baghcherra, Dhalcherra-Bilaipur, Jamira, Harishnagar and Chandpur-Bansbari areas.
