JORHAT, Feb 26 - A case has been registered against KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi today at Bokakhat police station in Golaghat district after a Guwahati-based RTI activist Dulal Bora lodged an FIR against Gogoi alleging the peasant leader of encroaching government land, including forest areas, at Kohora to set up the Kaziranga Orchid and Bio Diversity Park.
Bora has given Koinadhara Tiniali, Khanapara, Guwahati-22 as his address.
Police sources at Golaghat said that a case with number 100/18 has been registered at Bokakhat police station under several Sections 120 (B), 121, 420, 406, 409, 34 of the IPC and under Section 4 of (II) of the Assam Land Grabbing Prohibition Act, 2012.

Along with the FIR, Bora has submitted a copy of an inquiry report of a probe, reportedly conducted by a senior Golaghat district administration official looking after the revenue branch, who detected several anomalies regarding acquiring of the land for establishing the orchid park.
Bora, in the FIR, has alleged that Gogoi was plundering local flora and fauna and was smuggling these to foreign countries in exchange of foreign currency.
Terming Gogoi as kingpin of orchid mafia, Bora also alleged that the park was serving as a shelter ground of Leftist activists and antisocial elements, which was a major cause of concern.
He demanded the arrest of Gogoi and his associates Bidyut Saikia, Debabrata Saikia, Mrinal Nath, Ratan Daw, Pranjal Kakati, Mohen Morang, Raju Handique.
Requesting for an investigation and legal action against Akhil and his associates, Bora, urged the police to demolish the park within 24 hours.
