Land for super-speciality hospital at Cachar

KARIMGANJ, June 26 � At long last the Govt of Assam has taken steps to provide 100 bighas of land at Tikol near Auranabond TE in Cachar district for the construction of Kanchi Super-Speciality Hospital.

Only four km away from Kumbhirgram Airport, this piece of land was approved by the divisional land advisory committee. The committee has already sent the proposal to the Govt. It may be mentioned that Udharbond Nagarik Mancha had launched a movement for providing khas land for the purpose.

Paramananda Das, leader of the Manch told The Assam Tribune that according to Govt norms land belonging to Auranabond TE cannot be handed over to non-govt organisations, which had created uncertainity in setting up to Kanchi Super- Speciality Hospital at Auranabond. However, now the problem has been solved.

He disclosed that a group of representatives from North East Seva Trust of Kanchi will come to inspect the proposed land. The Trust will approve the site, the Manch expressed confident. The Manch said the representatives of the Trust will send their report to Shankaracherjee Jayanta Sararwatiji of Kanchi and final a decision would be taken by Saraswatiji.

However, Paramananda Das informed that Shankaracherjee also desires to set up a super- speciality hospital in Barak Valley. Cachar DT, HK Debmahanta and Minister Ajit Singh have extended their influence in providing 100 bihgas of khas land for the purpose, Paramananda Das added.
