GUWAHATI, Oct 19 � The year-long birth centenary celebration of former Asam Sahitya Sabha president Lakshyadhar Choudhury will start with a function on October 25 at 4:30 pm, at the Machkhowa ITA Centre here.
Noted folklorist, singer, composer and former president of Asam Sahitya Sabha Dr Birendranath Datta will inaugurate the celebration. Former Asam Sahitya Sabha president and veteran journalist Homen Borgohain will deliver the keynote address at the function.
On the occasion, a special volume on Lakshyadhar Choudhury has also been planned to be released. The volume that contains writings of several leading artistes, litterateurs, politicians and intellectuals, has been edited by a committee headed by former Asam Sahitya Sabha president Dr Nagen Saikia and will be released by another former Asam Sahitya Sabha president Kanak Sen Deka. This was stated in a press release.
