MORIGAON, Oct 11 - Preparations are on for celebrating the 152nd birth anniversary of Sahityarathi Lakshminath Bezbaroa at his birth place at Ahotgurighat in Morigaon district on October 14.
The programme will be organised under the auspices of Morigaon district unit of Asam Sahitya Sabha in collaboration with the Ahotguri Sahitya Sabha.
Ajit Sarma, secretary of Morigaon Zila Sahitya Sabha, stated in a press release that the birthday of the doyen of Assamese literature would be observed with a daylong colourful programme at Lakshminath Bezbora Cultural Centre at Ahotgurighat.
The open meeting to be held on the occasion will be inaugurated by Kanaksen Deka, former president of Asam Sahitya Sabha, while Dr Dhrubajyoti Bora, president of Asam Sahitya Sabha, will be the chief guest on the occasion. Dr Parag Kumar Thakur, vice-president of Asam Sahitya Sabha, and Dr Paramananda Rajbongshi, general secretary, will also address the gathering.
