Lakhimpur Vety College secures VCI recognition

By Correspondent

NORTH LAKHIMPUR, Aug 11 - The Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science was awarded formal recognition by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI).

The Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science, which was restored in 2014, has suffered many difficulties like deficiency of teachers, manpower, veterinary clinical complex and ILFC. As such, the Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science was considered inept by an inspection team from the VCI in 2017, primarily due to lack of infrastructure.

Therefore, the students of second year BVSc course from this college were shifted to the College of Veterinary Science at Khanapara. Ever since, Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science has been waging a lone battle to attain full-fledged recognition from the Veterinary Council of India.

On August 7, the Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science received a Letter of Intent under the Veterinary Council of India from the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare allowing admissions to the BVSc and AH for the 2018-19 session following its compliance of rules required by VCI for recognition.

The vety college has CT scan, ultra sound and X-Ray macines, while its veterinary clinical complex is one of the best in India. The college also has two girls hostels and quarters for faculty members at Zoihing in Lakhimpur.
