Lakhimpur DC visits flood-hit areas

NORTH LAKHIMPUR, Sept 24 � The Lakhimpur district administration today said that measures were being taken to deal with the latest flood situation in the district.

This time flood has affected eight villages under Lakhimpur and Nowboicha revenue circles. The flood has affected 440 families in these areas. The district administration has speeded up relief operations in the flood-hit areas and distributed food and drinking water among the flood victims.

Lakhimpur Deputy Commissioner Gaurav Bothra yesterday visited the flood-affected areas along with the ADC and the Revenue Circle Officers and took part in relief operations. DC Bothra assured the flood victims of quick repair of the breached portion of the Ranganadi embankment.

So far the district administration has distributed 179.52 quintals of rice, 38.51 quintals of dal and 10.35 quintals of salt among the flood victims of Lakhimpur revenue circle. Similarly 90.92 quintals of rice, 13.11 quintals of dal and 3.93 quintals of salt have been distributed among the flood victims of Nowboicha revenue circle.
