Lakhimpur bt NFRSA in veterans� cricket

GUWAHATI, April 5 - Lakhimpur caused a major upset in the 11th Veteran Inter District and Inter Institutional Invitational T20 Cricket Tournament in memory of Madhurjya Prasad Barooah and Badan Ch Saikia.

Altogether four matches were played at Mangaldai today where Lakhimpur stunned star-studded NF Railway Sports Association (NFRSA) by 55 runs.

In other matches played during the day, Tinsukia trounced Nalbari by nine wickets, Jorhat outplayed Dhubri by 10 wickets and Guwahati defeated High Court Advocates by seven wickets.

In the first match, Nalbari were restricted for 75 and in reply Tinsukia gathered 78 for one.

In the crucial low scoring second match, Lakhimpur were restricted to 105 for seven in their stipulated 12 overs and chasing the reachable target the NFRSA batsmen could only manage 55 for nine.

In the third match, in reply to Dhubri�s 86, Jorhat scored 89 for no loss. In the day�s last match, the High Court Advocates were all out for 111 and in reply Guwahati notched up 112 losing three wickets.
