GUWAHATI, Aug 9 � 3 Star Club of Nepal and Shillong Lajong Football Club have will take part in the 59th edition of the Lokapriya Bordoloi Trophy Football Tournament which will commence from September 2 at the Nehru Stadium here.
Guwahati Sports Association�s (GSA) general secretary Munin Nobis said negotiations are on with East Bengal Club of Kolkata and Abahani Krira Chakra of Dhaka and the GSA is hopeful that a positive reply will come from both the teams.
This year the championship will be played among 12 teams out of which four teams will be from the GSA Super League.
OIL FC, Morning Star Club of Diphu, Assam Regimental Centre and Nagaland Police are the other teams who have already confirmed their participation.
The champion team will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, while the-runners up team will get Rs 50,000 along with the trophies, informed Nobis.
From quarterfinal onwards the matches will be played under lights.
