Lajong all set to take on Chirag

GUWAHATI, Dec 28 � Shillong Lajong Football Club is all set to take on Chirag United, Kerala in their 12th round match of I-League at the Nehru Stadium here tomorrow.

It will be second home match for Lajong here in the city and in the previous match they defeated Mumbai Football Club 2-1.

Both the teams arrived here today. The Kerala team reached here late in the evening and did not have any opportunity to go for a workout session.

Meanwhile, both the teams have played 11 matches each and the Shillong team is placed 9th with 13 points in the table while the Kerala outfit is two places behind with 8 points.

Lajong secretary Larsing Ming said they are well prepared for the match and hopes to gain full points from this encounter.

He said, Nehru Stadium is their most favourite ground and they will take full advantage of the home crowd and familiar playing condition. He also said they don�t have any fitness problem in the team.

On their Shillong supporters, Ming said earlier that due to traffic jam on the Guwahati-Shillong road, even their die hard supports are hesitant to travel to Guwahati. Even than he expected a reasonable crowd for tomorrow�s match. He also urged local football buffs to support the Shillong team as it is the only I-League team from entire North East.

Lajong boys today enjoyed a training session under the watchful eyes of chief coach Pradyum Reddy at the Nehru Stadium. Reddy said that they have watched Chirag�s game. He hoped although they are good and experienced, his boys are capable enough to give them a run for their money and can deliver what is expected from them.

The kick off is at 2.15 pm.
