Lajong Academy boys outwit rusty ASEB SC

GUWAHATI, June 27 - Shillong Lajong Football Club Academy outwitted ASEB Sports Club 3-0 in a group league match of the 8th Bodousa Cup Football Tournament at the Nehru Stadium here today. The rusty ASEB players were virtually outplayed in all departments by the U-19 Shillong players through out the course. Man-of-the-match Milan Basumatary opened the account in the 29th minute with a firm drive from the top of the box.

After the break Redeem Tlang made it 2-0 in the 54th minute anticipating a pass from the left flank and Milan completed the drubbing in the 74th minute with a solo effort. The ASEB frontliner Zwambla Brahma squandered a couple of easy scoring opportunities in either half from close range. Earlier, in the inaugural match, Gauhati Town Club trounced Barekuri FC 5-0 yesterday.

Our Tinsukia correspondent adds: At the Katchujan Field, Tinsukia, in the inaugural match of this group Makum FC defeated Maotai FC of Arunachal Pradesh 5-0 today. In the opening ceremony Lamhao Doungel, Additional Superintendent of Police was present as chief guest.
