MIRZA, Nov 21 - The lai khuta (foundation) of �Chandubi Festival 2020� was laid today by Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC) Chairman Jayanta Malla Baruah in presence of a well attended gathering.

The festival for the year 2020 will be held from January 1 to 5 with a five-day programme.

It may be mentioned here that the All Rabha Students� Union, Borduar�Bholagaon Anchalik Committee, has been organising the Chandubi festival every year in association with several other Rabha organisations.

The festival will showcase the rich cultural heritage of the Rabha and other tribes and is likely to attract thousands of tourists from across Assam and also from other parts of the country.

A colourful cultural procession is also expected to be organised on the occasion. The procession will reflect the rich cultures of the Rabha and other tribes residing in the State. The festival is a major attraction for the tourists over the years.

The Chandubi festival is organised for the last 10 years keeping in mind the beauty of the famous Chandubi lake and its adjoining forests.
