GUWAHATI, March 21 � Socio-economic and cultural research organisation Mising World has presented the Jatindra Kumar Bargohain Samannoy Bota, 2015, to social worker Kuleswar Lagachu at a function held at the Murangukum located at the Japarigog area of the city on March 19.
In connection with the award giving ceremony, the Lakshminath Panging Memorial Lecture was also held by the organisation. The lecture was delivered by linguists Bilas Chandra Doley and Krishnaram Mili.
A book exhibition named after the first Mising physician Dr Nomal Chandra Pegu was also held on the occasion and it was inaugurated by social worker Bishnupriya Misong. Books written by 101 Mising authors were presented in the exhibition. The award ceremony was inaugurated by Purbachal editor Rabin Bhuyan. He presented the Gajiram Mili Sowarani Kavyaprabha Bota, 2015 to Trishna Pegu.
Haripriya Barukial Bargohain presented the Jatindra Kumar Bargohain Samannoy Bota to Kuleswar Lagachu, while writer Chandana Goswami presented the Hemadhar Patri Sambadikata Bota to Monoranjan Bori. Ganesh Kutum Sowarani Bahubhasik Kabi Sanmilan was also held in this connection, said a press release.
