Lab technician tests positive in Golaghat dist

DERGAON, June 15 - In an alarming situation, a laboratory technician engaged in Covid-19 treatment tested positive among the 15 new cases detected in Golaghat district on Monday.

After 15 new positive cases and discharge of 22 patients, the total number of active cases in the district stand at 83 till the filing of this report.

However, all the positive cases are from institutional quarantine centres.

Among the discharged patients, 5 are from Swahid Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital (SKKCH), Golaghat while another 17 are from Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH).

The DIPRO in-charge of Golaghat Papu Gogoi said that 60 Covid patients were undergoing treatment at SKKCH and 8 such patients were under treatment at JMCH as on Monday.

He also said that 279 inmates are in 17 Institutional Quarantine (IQ) centres of the district as on today. A total of 161 new inmates were admitted today while another 125 inmates were discharged and 7 were transferred from the IQs. Among them, the largest number of 82 inmates are at Sarupathar Quarantine Centre as on Monday.
