KVK, Dudhnoi ranked top among aspirational dists in India

GOALPARA, Aug 17 - The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Dudhnoi along with the district agriculture office, Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) and allied departments have something to cheer for after achieving the top position in Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan (KKA) which has been implemented in all the 115 aspirational districts of the country.

The KKA programme which started from June 1 and continued till August 15, 2018 with the objective to improve the economic condition of the farmers by giving boost to agriculture has been implemented in 25 selected villages of the district. Various specific actions like soil testing, issue of soil health cards, distribution of mini kits of pulses and oil seeds/paddy, horticulture, agro forestry plants, NADEP pits, artificial insemination in cattle, bovine and goat vaccination, agriculture implements and other related activities have been implemented during this period.

Talking to this correspondent, KVK coordinator (incharge) Dr Hitu said that the district of Goalpara has been identified as inspirational districts by the NITI Aayog among others with the objective to quickly and effectively transform the district through convergence of State and Central schemes, collaboration, both at the Central as well as at the State level and through competition. He informed that the programme Krishi Kalyan Abhijan was time-bound and was a part of the aspirational district programme which was properly executed. Dr Choudhury further expressed his happiness and thanked all his colleagues and other staff members for doing the commendable job and achieving the top all India ranking.

Also, Block Technology Manager, ATMA Homen Brahma said that he feels proud to be associated as one of the members of the agriculture team which has achieved the number 1 ranking in the KKA programme.
