KV Regional meet ends successfully

SIVASAGAR, Aug 30 � The 41st Silchar Inter Regional KV sports meet ended successfully yesterday at the Kendriya Vidyalaya here. Altogether 229 students from 32 KV schools of Assam took part in the sports meet. The Silchar regional team, that will participate in the all India meet at Banglore, was picked from this meet.

In the closing ceremony, sports organiser Manoj Bhagawati and Pabitra Borthakur were felicitated. Prizes were distributed by Prasanna Kr Hazarika, GGM, ONGC and AS Sachan � GM(D), ONGC. The tournament was inaugurated by Utpal Borah, GM-WS, ONGC and was supervised by Dhrubajyoti Sharma, Mukuta Das, Ajay Bordoloi, Pankaj Saikia, Rajkumar Borua and Dhrubajyoti Dutta.

The 1st position holders in the different games are: Tennis (boys): U-14 � Prakit Dutta, (U-17) � Poritosh Gogoi, (U-19) � Arnob Dutta. (Doubles) � U-14 � Ankosh Bhattacharya-Birinshi Changmai, U-17 � Paritosh Gogoi-Aditya Boruah. (Chess): U-14 � Himangshu Sinha, U-17 � Hanglem Shivraj, U-19 � Bigyananda Mutum. Badminton: Single - U-14- Nabajyoti Das, U-17- Rana Kr. Boruah, U-19 � Priyam Kharghoria. (Doubles) U-14 � Plabon Borgohain-Parikhit Koyri, U-17� Rana Kr Boruah-Nitish Borah, U-19 � Priyam Khaghoria-Anirban Borah. TT (Single): U-14 � Jishan Chowdhuri, U-17 � Kalyan Singh, U-19 � Partha Pratim Borman. Doubles � U-14 � Agastiya Boruah-Surojit Borthakur, U-17 � Sugam Sandilya-Kalyan Singh, U-19 � Jisnu Mahanta-Partha Pratim Borman.
