By Correspondent

TURA, Oct 1 - West Garo Hills DC Pravin Bakshi on Friday said that a second FIR would be filed against two teachers of Kendriya Vidyal-aya, Tura, accused of raping two Class XII students.

The accused teachers, acting principal Yogesh Joshi and teacher Deepjyoti Das were arrested on Thursday following complaints by the victims.

Two students of Class XII of the institution have alleged rape as well as mental torture, with one of the victims slitting her wrists due to pressure on her to carry on a physical relationship with Joshi.

There has been a huge furore against the two teachers for their act. The role of CRPF Commandant, RK Behara, who allegedly reached the spot before the police in an alleged attempt to rescue Joshi was also condemned by all.

According to the statements of the victims, the accused principal-teacher duo had invited them to the birthday party of Joshi, on September 3.

We arrived together at Joshis quarter towards the evening. The boys were late due to tuitions. However, when the boys arrived, they were put in one room with me and we were asked to listen to music while they took the victims to another room, said a girl who was there during the first incident.

He started to put pressure on me immediately after September 3. When I resisted his advances, he started threatening me, said the victim who was sexually abused several times.

It was only after the students got together to take matters into their hands that things finally began to unravel.

We will take action through a second FIR against the two teachers, said Bakshi, also chairman of the school committee. There have been many reports regarding his behaviour, he added.

The DC also said that he would ensure that Child Protection Committees (CPC) are set up in all schools so that such incidents do not recur.
