GUWAHATI, June 4 � Kendriya Vidyalaya Maligaon and Kendriya Vidyalaya IIT cruised into the semifinals of the 10th All Assam Inter School Prize Money Cricket Tournament for the Dhan Sena Sinha Trophy organised by the River Rine Cricket Coaching Center.
In two quarterfinal matches played at the Latasil playground here today, KV Maligaon earned a hard-fought one-wicket victory against Ulubari Higher Secondary School while KV IIT posted a facile 41-run win against Shrimanta Shankar Academy.
Put into bat, Ulubari HSS were all out for 85. But despite some brilliant bowling by the Ulubari bowlers, the Maligaon boys crossed the target losing nine wickets in the final over of the 20-over match.
In the second quarterfinal, KV IIT scored a challenging 113 for eight and later bundled out Shankar Academy team for 92.
