GUWAHATI, July 15 - Assam players Udit Gogoi and Kristi Boro claimed the boys U-14 and girls U-12 titles respectively in the OIL-AITA Super Series Tennis Tournament.
On the final day of the championship at the All Assam Tennis Association (AATA) complex, Chachal here today, 4th seed Kristi Boro upset top seed Poorvi Bhatt of Uttar Pradesh 6-4, 6-1 to bag the girls U-12 title while 3rd seed Udit defeated 5th seed Karan Prashar of Haryana 6-2, 6-0 for the boys U-14 crown.
Udit, pairing with Shreejit Sen of Maharashtra went down to Haryana�s top seeded duo of Nitin Jaipal Singh and Karan Parasar 3-6, 6-3, 13-11 in the boys U-14 doubles final.
In the prize distribution ceremony Subroto Sharma, vice president, AATA and secretary Ankush Dutta distributed the prizes.
The qualifying round of the 2nd OIL-AITA Super Series Tennis Tournament for Boys and Girls U-14 and 16 will be held on July 16 and 17, informed Dutta.
