GUWAHATI, June 16 - Kristi Boro of Assam entered the finals in the girls U-12 and U-14 categories of the AITA Championship Series Tennis Tournament.
In the semifinals played at the All Assam Tennis Association (AATA) complex Chachal here today, top seed Kristi defeated 3rd seed Sweta Samanta of West Bengal 6-3, 6-1 in the U-12 category. In the U-14 group, where Kristi is seeded second, edged past her State mate unseeded Harshita Borah 6-0, 4-6, 6-2.
In the boys U-12 doubles final top seed Anchit Gogoi of Assam and Rahul Pamei of Manipur defeated Assam duo Varun Vikash Kalita/Andy Thousen 6-0, 7-6 (3) for the title.
The championship has been organised and sponsored by the AATA.
All the singles final of the tournament will start from 8 am tomorrow.
