DHEMAJI, Jan 16 - Krishna Kanta Deva Goswami, Sattradhikar of the Sri Sri Batargayan Sattra situated at Hiloipara village in West Dhemaji area, breathed his last recently at his residence due to old-age ailments. He was 84.

Born in 1933, Krishna Kanta Deva Goswami was an ardent follower of sattriya culture. He devoted himself to spreading sattriya culture in Dhemaji district. He also taught Raas Leela dance in different places of Dhemaji and Lakhimpur districts including Butikor, Jugisuti Laipulia, Powasaikia, Phatia etc. His death has been widely mourned in the area.

He leaves behind his wife, two sons, two daughters and a host of relatives and disciples.
