Krishna Janmastami Mahotsava-2012

GUWAHATI, Aug 2 � International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) Guwahati is organising a two-day annual �Sri Sri Krishna Janmastami Mahotsava 2012� on August 10th and 11th with a colourful programme at its Sri Sri Rukmini Krishna Temple cum cultural complex premises at South Sarania, Ulubari, stated a press release.

On August 10, the Mahotsava will begin with Mangal Aroti to be followed by Krishna Bhajan, Akhanda Kirtan, Mahamantra Chanting (108 steps), Abhishek (By Donors), Maha Abhishek and mid-night Aroti along with free prasadam distribution to all the pilgrims. An autio-visual show on �Krishna Leela� has been arranged on the day of the festival.

�Srila Prabhupada�s Vyas Puja� will be performed on the following day on August 11, the appearance day of Srila Prabhupada, the founder-Acharya of ISKCON with Krishna Bhajan & Kirtan; Srila Prabhupada�s Lila Katha, Aroti, glorification of Srila Prabhupada, Pushpanjali and Prasadam distribution. In connection with the celebration of Sri Krishna Janmastami Mahotsava, ISKCON Heritage Fest - 2012, a series of Vedic competitions among the school students of greater Guwahati is being organized on September 2 & 8. The mahotsava will come to an end on September 23 with the celebration of �Sri Sri Radhastami� with abhishek and glorification of Srimati Radharani.

Elaborate arrangement is being made for free parking facilities of vehicles for pilgrims at Nehru Stadium along with free transportation to and from the temple on the day of Janmastami (August 10) from 4 pm till midnight. The devotees of ISKCON cordially invite all the people irrespective of caste and creeds to participate in all the programmes of the festival to make it a grand success.
