Krish bags double crown, Lenien champ

GUWAHATI, June 23 - Gujarat boy Krish Patel clinched double crown in the AITA Championship Series Tennis Tournament which concluded today at the All Assam Tennis Association (AATA) Complex in Chachal here.

Krish won the boys U-16 and U-18 titles. In the U-16 final, he defeated Udit Gogoi of Assam 7-6(4), 6-1 while in the U-18 singles final he trounced Kabir Hans of Odisha in straight sets 6-2, 7-5.

In the girls U-18 singles category, Assam girl Lenien Jamir lifted the title by thrashing Maharashtra�s Paavani Pathak 6-3, 6-1.

Kristi Boro of Assam, pairing with Shatavisa Ghosh of West Bengal won the girls� U-18 doubles title defeating Koyena Sircar (WB)/Ishika Chakma (ASM) 7-6(4), 6-2.

AATA secretary Ankush Dutta congratulated the Assam players for their good performance in both the AITA Championship Series Tennis Tournaments held during the last two weeks.
