DIPHU, Jan 10 � The Karbi People�s Liberation Tiger (KPLT) observed its raising day on Thursday in two separate undisclosed locations � one at the central headquarters in east Karbi Anglong and the other at the general headquarters in west Karbi Anglong respectively, Ranam Lijang, general secretary in-charge of the militant outfit informed.
He informed that a seminar on the autonomous State under the provision of Article-244 (A) of the Indian Constitution was also organised on the occasion.
The militant organisation said that an autonomous state comprising Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao is the constitutional right of the people of the hill districts. In order to attain the right and aspiration of the people, a peaceful mass democratic movement has been witnessed since the last two decades, but both the State and the Central governments have not paid any attention to it.
Being frustrated and irritated, upcoming youths of Karbi Anglong were compelled to take up arms to demand implementation of Article-244(A), thus paving the way for the creation of an autonomous state comprising the two hill districts, said the KPLT leader.
The militant leader further said that if the government fails to solve the vexed issue, the KPLT would be forced to intensify its arms movement to achieve its goal.
The outfit�s organizational flag was unfurled by Ranam Lijang, general secretary in-charge at the central headquarters, while D Kramsa, chairman unfurled the flag at the general headquarters, Ranam Lijang informed.
