MORIGAON, Aug 23 - Bahrungkha Club, Kokrajhar defeated Bodosha Club, Tinsukia by a big margin of 5-2 goals in the inaugural match of the 45th Motiram Bora Football Tournament at the Khirode Boruah Stadium here today.
Nauba of Bodosha Club opened the account converting a spot kick in the 17th minute. But, stung by the reverse the Kokrajhar boys got their act together and started putting pressure on the opponent. Min Tang scored two back to back goals in the 31th and 34th minutes to put Barhungkha ahead. Mickel made it 3-1 in the just before the break. Two goals from Danial in the 54th and 59th minutes respectively made the match one-sided. However, it was Nauba again who struck his and his team�s second in the later part of the match.
Earlier, veteran footballer Bhagavan Bharali inaugurated the tournament. Teams like Assam Rifles, ASEB, SAI Guwahati are participating in the championship.
