GUWAHATI, Aug 17 - The All Assam Sons of the Soil Indigenous Kochari Somaj today voiced its resentment against implementation of Clause 6 of the Assam Accord and appealed to the Centre to reject the same.
The organisation also asserted that the recommendations made by the high-level committee constituted by the Central government for suggesting measures for implementing Clause 6 are anti-indigenous and a conspiracy to carry out further exploitation on the Kachari and other indigenous tribal communities of Assam.
Criticising the All Assam Students� Union (AASU), the organisation said that through a six-year long movement, AASU turned around 50 lakh illegal foreigners into legal citizens of India who came to the State between 1951 and 1971. It also urged Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal to stop the initiative to constitute the Kamatapur Autonomous Council.
