KNP lost 18 rhinos during recent flood

KAZIRANGA, Aug 3 - As the flood menace at the Kaziranga National Park has decreased to a certain extent, more and more carcasses of wild animals have been recovered by patrolling forest staff. Till today, 18 rhinos have died during this current flood in Kaziranga, out of which 12 rhinos died due to drowning, one died after it got stuck in the mud, 4 died due to natural conditions and one died due to other reason, said an official release from Kaziranga park authority. Similarly, a total of six wild buffalo died during the current flood in Kaziranga. Likewise 11 wild boars, 3 swamp deer and 105 hog deer were found dead in the recent flood.

12 more test COVID-19 positive: Sensation prevails in Kohora after it was confirmed that 12 more persons have tested Covid-19 positive today. Yesterday a owner of a wholesaler shop at Aaranya market of Kohora was found positive. Till now, a total of 13 persons have tested positive.

Meanwhile, Bokakhat subdivisional administration has decided to close down Kohora bazar for the next four days. Local fish market and adjoining Aaranya market will be declared a containment zone for next seven days, said an official of Bokakhat civil administration.

The Covid-19 positive patients have been sent to Kohora Model Hospital as well as Golaghat Covid-19 Hospital.
