KMSS to take up Himantas car issue with PM

By Staff reporter

GUWAHATI, July 6 Voluntary organisation Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) today said that it would take up the issue of Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma obtaining two cars as gifts from certain quarters with the Prime Minister and Home Minister of the country and the chairperson of the ruling UPA.

It has also dared the Health Minister to tell the people in unambiguous terms as to who gifted him the cars.

The voluntary organization has informed through a press statement here that it would supply the information concerning the two cars of the Minister to the CBI also.

Welcoming the reported initiative of the Minister to move the court on the issue, the KMSS said that this would help it place all the relevant documents concerning the two cars before the court for judicial scrutiny.

The Minister has despite his attempts at manipulating the facts, failed to conceal the truth relating to the two cars. The scheme of the Minister and his wife to mislead the people with ridiculous statements is

exposed. Their statement that they procured the cars in 2008 and made part payments after two years in 2010 sounds odd.

Moreover, the statement of the Ministers wife that the Income Tax Department was apprised in 2009-10 fiscal of the details of the procurement of the two cars is also ludicrous. For, the some of the installments against the cars were reportedly paid in June 2010.
