Protesters flayed the BJP-led governments in the State and at the Centre for failing to attend to the basic needs of the common people among which was the sharp increase in prices of essential items like onions, potatoes and vegetables in addition to continuing high prices of diesel and petrol fuels.
Terming the ruling party as Bharatiya Jhumla Party, the protesters alleged the Governments led by the party was concerned only about the rich people.
They alleged that the Centre had waived off loans amounting to about thousands of crores rupees to 50 big businessmen of the country while completely ignoring the problems of common people.
Alleging lack of social responsibility of the BJP-led Governments towards general people, the protesters said that the people of Assam will give a proper response in this regard in 2021 Assembly polls.
They called for ousting the BJP-led Government in the State in the Assembly elections slated next year.
