NALBARI, May 5 � The Nalbari district committee of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) today staged a mass dharna in front of the Nalbari Deputy Commissioner�s office in support of their 18 charter of demands.
The KMSS has demanded a stop to large-scale irregularities in the public distribution system and allotment of land pattas to 15,000 families of the district, among others. It has set June 1 as the deadline to the district administration to solve the problems. The adviser to the KMSS Akhil Gogoi, KMSS activist Kamal Medhi also addressed the protest meeting.
They also submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner through the Additional Deputy Commissioner. Earlier, a protest rally was taken out through the main thoroughfare of Nalbari town.
