KMSS demonstrations against corruption

GUWAHATI, Dec 9 � Members of the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) today staged sit-in demonstrations in all the district headquarters of the State, except the BTAD areas, demanding immediate dismissal of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and three of his Cabinet colleagues including Himanta Biswa Sarma, Guatam Roy and Kharsing Ingti for their alleged involvement in the Rs 1000-crore NC Hills scam.

It also demanded an overall enquiry into the allegation of misappropriation of public money in the NC Hills Autonomous Council in view of the CAG report.

The KMSS also submitted a memorandum to the President of India, the Prime Minister, the Union Home Minister and the UPA chairperson through the Deputy Commissioner (Kamrup) highlighting several other demands, which include immediate prosecution of former Governor of Assam Lt Gen (Rtd) Ajai Singh.
