JORHAT, April 10 � A road blockade was organised at Baruah Chariali here by the activists of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti. Similar road blockades were also staged at Borhola of Titabar and Jagduar of Teok in protest against the arrest of Akhil Gogoi, leader of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti, at Guwahati.
The vehicles were stranded for hours on the busy road near Baruah Charali as the members of KMSS blocked the main roads from 2pm till 4 pm.
Our Teok Correspondent adds: The activists of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) blocked the NH-37 at Jogduar under Teok PS on Sunday afternoon in protest against the arrest of KMSS general secretary Akhil Gogoi at Guwahati.
The blockade started at 1.30 in the afternoon and continued till 4.40 in the evening. The circle officer, Teok Revenue Circle, Tapan Kr Gogoi, though tried to pacify the protesters, they remained adamant over their demand of immediate release of their leader without any precondition.
Our Kohora Correspondent adds: Members of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) today blocked the NH-37 near Kohora for nearly two hours from 2.30 pm in protest against the arrest of its leader Akhil Gogoi.
Our Jagiroad Correspondent adds: The Morigaon district KMSS this afternoon blocked the NH-37 here in protest against the arrest of its leader Akhil Gogoi. Bubumoni Goswami, chairman, MASS, condemned the arrest of Akhil Gogoi.
