GOALPARA, Jan 5 - The two-day-long Kishan Mela organised by CSS-ATMA which started on January 3 concluded on Wednesday.
Addressing the valedictory session, Project Director and DAO Bhudindranath Hazarika said that the objective of such melas is to encourage and educate farmers so that they are able to reap the benefits by applying the latest technology in their respective farms. He also thanked the large gathering for showing their enthusiasm while participating in all the programmes organised during the mela.
The Farmers� Advisory and Information Centre (FAIC) from all the eight blocks of the district put up their stalls and exhibited farm produce which was also joined by the department of Fishery and Veterinary. The mela also witnessed an open session, training session and seminars where the farmers were sensitised about the ongoing schemes and on the latest agricultural technology. A farmers� quiz competition was also held at the venue.
Earlier, the Kishan Meal was inaugurated by MLA (Dudhnoi) Dipak Kumar Rabha.
