BARPETA, Sept 15 - Barpeta police achieved another major success last night when they managed to rescue the kidnapped baby and arrested two another persons associated with this crime from Hajo in Kamrup district. The 15-day baby was kidnapped on September 13 night while sleep with its mother Nurula Parvin at her maternal home at Bahmura village near here.
Police with the help of the local people had arrested one Iman Ali just after the incident and began a vigorous search operation to trace the victim. Iman confessed to his crime in association with one Hasanur Ali and selling the baby to a family at Mukalmua in Nalbari district.
After receiving clues from Iman, a police team arrived at Khopanikuchi near Hajo and with the help of Hajo police managed to rescue the baby from the custody of Obaidul Hoque and Nurjahan Parveen last night. The couple who divulged that they were contacting to sell the captive in Shillong, has been arrested.
However, Hasanur Ali, the accomplice of Iman Ali is still at large and police is searching for him so that the entire gang may be arrested.
The success of the police has been widely lauded by the people.
