DIMAPUR, March 23 - A Council meeting of NSCN-IM at its headquarters at Hebron near here on Wednesday re-elected vice chairman gen (retd) Kholi Konyak and general secretary Th Muivah for another term of six years.
The NSCN-IM in a release informed that the meeting was attended by more than 3,000 active NSCN members. Meanwhile, Muivah stated that NSCN-IM is for harmonious interdependent relationship with our neighbouring peoples and nations on the basis of mutual respect and recognition of right.
In a statement, he, however, stated that it is opposed to the politics of isolationism and jingoism. Our neighbouring people and nations should be our political and defence partners. We have lived with them for thousands of years and we will do so in years to come, he added.
The Framework Agreement, Muivah noted, recognises the unique history, identity, sovereignty, territories of the Nagas. It also recognises the legitimate right of Nagas to integration of all Naga territories, he added.
