IMPHAL, May 26 � Nagaland�s Vilasier Khate clinched his second title of the 3rd North East Cash Prize Tennis Championship with a clinical victory over his statemate K Whourie in the men�s singles final played at Officer�s Club, Lamphelpat yesterday.
Having won the men�s doubles crown of the championship last evening, Vilasier initially faced stiff competition from Whourie in the first set but his statemate could not maintain the momentum in the second and decisive set as the eventual champion completed a 7-5, 6-3 victory to claim the title and bag Rs 30,000.
