ITANAGAR, Dec 15 - Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday inaugurated the State�s 25th district, Pakke Kessang, in presence of Union MoS for Home Kiren Rijiju, Dy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki, Home Minister Kumar Waii, Forest Minister Nabam Rebia, and others.
Pakke-Kessang district has been carved out of East Kameng district. The newly created district comprises five administrative Circles, namely, Pakke-Kessang, Seijosa, Pijeriang, Passa Valley and Dissing-Passo with Lemmi being the district headquarters.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister unveiled the vision statement of the new district, while Chief Secretary Satya Gopal handed over the district flag to Pakke Kessang Deputy Commissioner Tammuna Messar. IGP Sunil Garg handed the ceremonial flag to the new Pakke Kessang Superintendent of Police Jimmy Chiram.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister promised to sanction funds for emergency works for accommodation for district heads, offices and other infrastructure. He also assured to incorporate fund provisions in the coming budget for its overall infrastructure development.
