Khandu for robust telecom infrastructure in NE

ITANAGAR, Jan 16 - Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has emphasised the need to have a robust telecom infrastructure in the North-east which according to him is a prerequisite to the development of the region and also as catalyst to attract investment in the region.

He was addressing a review meeting of implementation of BharatNet and other major telecom projects in the North-east chaired by Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Communications, Manoj Sinha, in Guwahati on Tuesday.

�IT sector will play a major role in achieving Prime Minister�s vision for New India by 2022. For that we need robust communication network,� the Chief Minister said and urged all the north-eastern states to resolve issues to facilitate telecom projects in the region.

The Chief Minister apprised the Union Minister about the several innovations made by the Arunachal Pradesh Government to improve digital connectivity in the state for effective governance and for convenience to the people for easy access to public services.
